April highlights the month of the military child and the sacrifices our service members as well as their families make in service to their country. As we inch closer to Memorial Day, it is important that we continue to honor those who have served and are still bravely serving our nation every day. When we think of our service members, however, we tend to think only of the sacrifices made by those who actively serve. While their sacrifice is undoubtedly important, what is often overlooked is the sacrifice that their families also make. It is not unusual for military families to relocate frequently to travel with their partner who is serving. For those families with children, that means that they often travel, too. To shine a light on the children of military families, April is the “Month of the Military Child”.
